This game was produced in 1980 by Gottlieb, creator of the greatest pinball machines on the planet! This game was incredibly popular when new due to the classic Gottlieb target style gameplay and especially due to the Marvel Comic character theme. This game was the very first Gottlieb machine with the second-generation, new and improved System 80 circuit board set which allowed advanced features, improved sound and more exciting gameplay. The fabulous artwork on this game that was taken directly from the pages of vintage Marvel Comic books makes it a delight to look at, even when you're not playing it. Pinball machines are presently enjoying a renaissance period with young and old alike experiencing new-found joy in these games of the past. This game has genuine Gottlieb style play with a classic playfield layout that will entertain your family for many years! Spiderman is one of the most collectable of all Gottlieb pinball machines! You'll love all of the electronic beeps, boops and retro music as you blast away at the targets trying to get your bonus count and multiplier to soaring heights. This game has all of the classic features that made Gottlieb great. One very notable feature in the game is the fact that it is a widebody machine, which allows the designers to pack it with more features than a standard sized machine. This playfield features TRIPLE KICKOUT SAUCERS at the top along with multiple styles of rollovers which drop the ball down into the pop-bumpers. The lower playfield features two banks of spider web drop targets, inlane and outlane rollovers as well as a loopback shot. A spinner on the left loop shot will lead you back to the top of the playfield for more scoring opportunities! No problem keeping the ball moving on this game... it features FOUR FLIPPERS! From the banks of drop targets and stationary targets, to the pop bumpers, saucer holes, rollovers and spinner, this playfield has a fast playing and well thought out design that will keep you interested and challenged for hours at a time. Most pinball enthusiasts agree that Gottlieb made the best playing single-level playfield designs and this game is timeless. The classic and family-friendly theme goes great in any home gameroom! Spiderman games were very popular when they were new at the arcade and usually got played down to the bare wood. Not the case with this preserved specimen! The playfield on this game is in excellent condition with very few blemishes and the original factory clear coat is intact and glistening. The plastics are all in beautiful original condition with no chips or cracks. The genuine silk-screen painted backglass is in very nice original condition and is NOT a reproduction. The cabinet is in excellent condition with minor blemishes and brand new legs and playfield glass were installed. It's rare to find a true vintage classic game in this condition! Anyone can change the rubber and light bulbs on a game and call it "shopped".
